Who is Art and Wellness for?
My sessions and resources are for anyone who want to understand and experience the process of using mindfulness techniques through art skills for their own wellbeing. Attending to the sessions will equip you with a range of artistic and mindfulness skills that will help you channel creatively and cope with emotional discomfort.
What is the age range?
There is no limit. I work with a wide range of ages from primary aged children to older adults and including family and intergenerational sessions. In order to work with children, I undertake an enhanced DBS check every three years.
What do I get from the sessions?
• Create a new good habit.
• Become more aware of yourselves and your needs of creative expression and self-care by using mindfulness techniques while using arts.
• Find a way to channel your thoughts and emotions into something creative or artistic.
• Breaking barriers and challenging limiting beliefs, such as ‘art is for artistic people’, ‘art is for creative people’, ‘I’m not creative’ etc.
Are these art workshops?
The sessions are not art technique focused workshops; however, you might learn some new creative techniques, and you may find your preferred artistic medium to express yourself which you are welcome to find further training for if you wish.
Are these Art Therapy Sessions?
No, Art Therapy is a form of therapy that uses art as a medium for expression to help diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions and illnesses. Rather than art therapy sessions, these workshops are designed to improve your general wellbeing and use a range of mindfulness techniques to achieve it. Giving you the space to develop self-awareness and enable self-expression. Likewise, you might find a starting point for your personal healing journey.
